Flaps and Ailerons

 


The flaps both went together really well. The plans need to be carefully looked at before starting, as the side view is upside down to what I thought it should be. Subsequently, I started building the RH flap, only to realise soon after that I was actually building a LH flap. No dramas, I just made absolutely sure that the other flap was reversed. These things go together really quickly. I started building the flaps on Friday evening and had both finished by Tuesday afternoon. That included a work day on Monday!! I took Tuesday off work as it was my 25th wedding anniversary, but Carol was busy preparing a presentation, so I was banished to the garage all day (bummer ). I trial fitted both flaps to the wings and they are good to go. the RH control horn touches the rear spar doubler, so I will have to sand a bit around the hole, no big deal.

The ailerons are next on the agenda. I believe they take a little more time than the flaps.......
